OHS/SS Mentoring Continues to Inspire

Poetry SessionWhat is the best part of Tuesdays at Seneca Street?  For many 3rd, 4th and 5th graders, it is their participation in the OHS/SS Mentoring Program.  Started by Mrs. Linda Buschatzke during the 2015-16 school year, this program continues to grow and connects OHS students with elementary students. The students spend 30 minutes each week, working together and creating positive, mentor-mentee relationships.  The group has worked on technology intiatives, such as coding and Breakout EDU, art projects, drama circles, Project Based Learning adventures with Ms. Jen Herzog from Herkimer County Community College, and several team building activities.  This past mentoring session involved writing poems, as we approach April and National Poetry Month.  Thank you to all the staff that supports the weekly activities and to the outstanding OHS students that share their time and talents with the Seneca Street students.
